Responsibilities

The Environmental Safety Specialist supports specific project needs by ensuring best practices are implemented, safety compliance requirements are met, and enhance a culture of safety.

  • Oversee all aspects of a commercial construction projects ensuring OSHA compliance
  • Conduct daily safety meetings
  • Complete accident reports and conduct accident investigations
  • Ensure all personnel wear their personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Daily safety audits and inspections
  • Inspect power tools and heavy equipment
  • Provides specialized environmental input to Engineering, Construction, and Subcontracts, thus ensuring that environmental requirements are integrated into project planning, design criteria, construction plans and specifications, and subcontracts

Qualifications

  • Minimum 5+ years of construction safety experience required
  • OSHA 30 hour in Construction certification required
  • First Aid/CPR certified
  • Strong knowledge of construction safety standards
  • Must have experience in Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, and Excavation
  • Excellent verbal and written skills

  •  

    Bachelor of Science degree in a specialized scientific field (e.g., wetlands biology, meteorology, forestry, and archeology) or environmental/civil engineering and practical work experience in the discipline performing the responsibilities listed above ? OR equivalent demonstrated experience.

  • Knowledge of environmental management, monitoring and mitigation systems, principles, and methodologies related to heavy civil and large industrial construction projects.

  •  

    Experience in environmental monitoring and/or compliance inspection during construction

 

Pay Range

95,000-110,000

Travel | Relocation
